MINTS & PASTELS

pastells

Pastels are offcourse a trend this spring, so I checked my closet and found that I have very few  pastel-coulored garments in my closet – this has to be fixed! I like the idea of mixing different shades of a colour in one outfit – ton-in-ton. Spring’s nearly here, so I have to test it!

GO WHITE

I love this outfit from Balmains spring collection. This look falls straight to my heard, and a pair of white jeans is absolutely a must-have for spring. White mixed with metallic details, or an awesome jacket as on the photo, is absolutely something you’ll se me in this spring.

GET YOUR SOCKS ON

I år, som i fjor, er sokkene tilbake. Ull-sokkene for oss norske i polarområdet. Dette er absolutt noe en bør prøve ut – det ser kult ut og man holder seg varm på beina – kan det bli bedre?

The socks are back again. Woollen-socks for us Norwegians. This is absolutely something to try – it looks cool and it’s warm – can it get any better?

UNDER THE SEA

… the life under water has been an inspiration to many designers; Versace, Chanel, Alexander McQueen and Peter Pilotto is just a few. The interpretations are different, but that only means there are many ways of doing it.

There’s the feminine way of doing it, with pastels, like Alexander McQueen did;

Or Metallic like Chanel did it;

Or futuristic like Christopher Kane;

I really like this trend, and the dress from Peter Pilotto in my collage  is high on my wish list. I love water and everything that has to do with the sea, so this for me is just beautiful to watch.

SUIT YOURSELF

You don’t always have to wear a dress just because you’re a woman and you’re going out. Smoking can be just as cool, and just as sexy as a dress!

Suit yourself

This is kind of how I could have done it. Depending on the event I’d choose between shorts and pants and heels and flats… With intense smokey eyes, a nice coloured lipstick and some accessories, this look would be just as sexy as a dress! Don’t you think?

HAIRSTYLE

.

I wanted to try this look, but I found that my hair was too short, so I did one my way. I braided from both sides to my neck and my bang I just took to the side and this was the outcome. I’m not the best in braiding, but it was okay. THe hairstyle is super cool, and if I try it a couple of times I’ll make it perfect.

Fall 2011

Here are just some of the trends we’ve seen on the catwalk for this fall;

The Cape

Alexander Wang, Anna Sui, Rag & Bone

The Key-Item this fall comes in all shapes and variations. In addition to a single-coloured one(beige, cognac, brown, mustard?) you can have a grapich, etnic or indian inspired design. We’ve been seing lots of ponchos on the strees, and it seemes like the designers have been paying attention to this.

Americana;

DsQuared2, Isabel Marant

This style has lasted for a while, but continues this fall. Boots, suede, 70s inspired jackets, knitwear with interesting textures and leatherbags with fringes.

Tuxedo Dressing;

Prabal Gurung, Alexander Wang, Ralph Lauren

The White shirt, black bottom and black neckpiece. So far Fall 2011 is filled with pleny of borrowed-from-the-boys attire. Alexander wang took a sheer bib-front dress with leather trousers, Prabal Gurung in a cummerbund and feminine blouse, Ralph Lauren went all the way with a head-to-toe suit with sexy shoes.

Metallic;

Bora Aksu, Stella McCartney, Jenny Packham

Gold, silver and cobber is in, expecially with earthcolours. If you don’t want to go all the way, just do it with shoes, a bag, or some shiny jewlery. Doing a simple shiny dress like Jenny Packham is good too.

Minimalism;

Calvin Clein, Jil Sander, Celine

It’s now even simpler with cleaner cuts and less details. Pure and simple, less is still more.

Snakeskin;

Chloe, Prada, Missoni Collections

Snakeskin is in! The reptile-pattern is in as never before, so forget zebra and leopard.

Polka Dots;

Marc Jacobs,  Diane Von Furstenberg

When Marc Jacobs AND Diane Von Furstenberg uses the same print, you know it’s a trend. If head-to-toe patterned looks isn’t you, just try a blouse or a scarf to spice up your outfit.

Bright Pants;

 Yigal Azrouël, Karen Walker, Philip Lim

I think my favourite trend. This is an easy way to make the winter’s dark layers look fun and fresh! I bought a pink and a purple pair of pants this summer, and I’m glad to see that the trend is continuing.

There will be more of this… there’s a lot of cool clothing this fall!
